The HarbourLoop design proposes a route defined by a series of ‘hubs’ and two major crossings. Gain an insight into what the 23km pathway can offer pedestrians, cyclists and commuters along the harbourfront.

Community Hub - Quarry Bay
As one of the city’s main business districts with a large residential population, Quarry Bay is envisaged as a Community Hub. Offering space for social gatherings, entertainment, dining and recreation, the location forms a new gateway to the district and a leisure hotspot for Hong Kong Island’s East.

Culture Hub - Shau Kei Wan
Located on a typhoon shelter, Shau Kei Wan is imagined as a Culture Hub and acts as a new destination that will help to revitalise the eastern waterfront. Space for markets, watersports facilities, public marina, wholesale fish market, and a better connection to the Museum of Coastal Defense creates a new cluster of attractions.

Commuter Hub - Central
Connecting to Hong Kong’s CBD, the Central Commuter Hub is a major access point along the HarbourLoop route. The destination acts as an important nodal point for the Hong Kong Island network, and the main gateway leading directly to Kowloon.

East Crossing
A bridge is proposed as the eastern crossing over Victoria Harbour. The iconic pedestrian passage spans 500 metres from the Shau Kei Wan waterfront to the village of Lei Yue Mun. Connecting the communities of Kowloon and Hong Kong, the design unites the two sides of the city.

West Crossing
For the west HarbourLoop crossing, a 1.5 kilometre-long underwater tunnel to transport commuters beneath the harbour is proposed. The pedestrian and cycle-friendly channel will begin at the Central ferry piers and continue through to the West Kowloon Cultural Park, offering an efficient route between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon.
